This is how change and growth occur.
Â
It’s easy to keep the final photo, the moment of glory when everything seems to fit perfectly, but it’s not the only one. What lies behind it is often ignored; the time and effort invested, the obstacles overcome, the challenges faced, the failed attempts, the falls and rises, the moments of doubt, the unwavering determination, the tenacity, perseverance and patience. Days, weeks, months and years of constant work, often invisible to the eyes of others.
Â
You’ve probably already heard or read about it, but the bamboo growth cycle is the perfect analogy to illustrate what I’m talking about…
Â
After planting its seed, bamboo takes 7 years to sprout and peek timidly to the surface. Then, in just 6 weeks, it can reach up to 30 meters in height.
Does it take 6 weeks to grow those 30 meters?
Of course not! It is more than 7 years of silent development, of constant strengthening, which goes unnoticed because it is not visible.
Â
As I have written in other publications it is common to yearn for quick and easy solutions, forgetting that success, change and growth are the result of perseverance, tenacity and patience.
👇 Tip of the Day 👇
- Before you get started, keep in mind that it will take time.
Many give up because of impatience, because they do not see immediate results. Convince someone that success is a direct consequence of effort, tenacity and perseverance is a real challenge.
Â
There will be times when nothing seems to change, and that can be frustrating. When they occur, remember the bamboo analogy: even if you don’t see results, you are growing and maturing internally.
Â
Don’t give up!
Â
At first, growth happens slowly, and then, when you least expect it, it happens all at once.
