Making decisions (in 2 steps)

Effective decision making (both personal and professional) can be reduced to 2 simple but not always easy steps.

First, it is important to expand our minds, consider all possibilities, explore all options and not limit ourselves.

This is the time to be curious, to learn a little bit of everything and to consider even what seems impossible and improbable, without closing any door.

The second step requires courage, confidence and conviction to rule out options, to choose to choose and to act.

This is where many fail, they leave so many doors open for fear of being wrong that the number of options ends up generating confusion and fear.

Knowing where to focus attention and acting accordingly is what really helps us move forward and make an impact.

👇 Tip of the Day 👇

Analysis phase (e.g. 2 days): Write down all the options you can think of, even the ones that seem absurd and less likely.

Actively look for more alternatives, ask questions, research, explore and keep an open mind.

Decision phase (e.g. 1 day): Review all the options and start eliminating everything except the one you think is the best option.

At the end of the day, you should have the clarity to make the decision and start acting.

Keep these phases separate and respect their timing.

This exercise will help you develop both your creativity and your capacity for action and decision, crucial skills for personal growth and success in any area of your life.
