The speech that the philosopher proclaimed in self-defense was immortalized by his disciple Plato in “The Apology of Socrates.”
"I was aware that I knew nothing, so to speak."
Those words, uttered by the philosopher, for some historians are the origin of what eventually became one of the most recognized quotes attributed to Socrates; “I only know that I know nothing“.

The quote from the Greek philosopher brings to mind the following quote, commonly attributed to Einstein:
"The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know."
Einstein and Socrates were exceptionally wise, not only because of their knowledge, but because of their awareness of how little they knew and how much they could still learn.
