20,000 rope jumps!
Â
That’s how many (on average) jumps I make per week and there’s no one who isn’t surprised when they hear it.Â
Â
One day, at the gym, a very nice gentleman, about 60 years old, whom I always meet on weekends, visibly frustrated after a few failed attempts, asked me what is the secret to jump so well, if he finds it so difficult.Â
Â
“There’s no secret,” I explained, I simply started jumping rope in elementary school, at age 5-6, and it’s been one of my favorite exercises ever since.Â
Â
My jumping technique is fluid and natural, if you see me doing it, it really seems simple, but to get to that point, where everything seems so easy, I’ve been jumping for 30 years, so paradoxical is the effort.
To make something look natural and simple, it takes a lot of effort and practice.
No one is born a master; even the most outstanding prodigies achieve excellence through unrelenting dedication and constant practice.
Â
If you see someone perform something with ease that seems complex to you, rest assured that person has invested hours of effort and perseverance to master that skill.
Â
Instead of getting discouraged because others are so good at something you haven’t mastered yet, take those people as a source of inspiration and motivation, don’t get discouraged.

-
It's never too late to learn something new if you adopt the learner's mindset.
But remember, you‘re going to have to put in some effort, to make it look effortless.
Â
A paradox.
