Failure, success, or neither

All my life I have been very competitive, but it took me years to learn to control and positively use that energy.

When I was little, if I didn’t win at a game, or something didn’t turn out the way I expected, my initial reaction was to cry.

In my adolescence, every failure generated frustration, made me judge myself and question if it was worth it to keep trying and even, many times I stopped doing things I liked, simply to avoid criticism and being judged, which made me feel frustrated, took me to a darker place, where nothing happens, nothing is learned and nothing is created, where nothing fails and nothing is achieved, a place where you definitely should not be.

Fortunately, life has taught me that success is, at the end of the day, a game of numbers and probabilities, the more you try, the more likely you are to succeed, but as you try more, you obviously have to be prepared to accumulate more failures.

Despite remaining competitive, I have come to understand that failure is an opportunity for learning and growth, and therefore an inevitable and necessary part of the road to success.

👇 Reminder of the day 👇

Many people decide to play it safe, avoid risks and stay within a comfort zone where they experience neither (neither success nor failure). And while this may seem like a smart strategy, they are actually missing the opportunity to reach their true potential.

Every stumble brings you one step closer to your goal, so the next time you find yourself hesitating to take a leap or try something new, remember that failure is not the end, it is simply a stepping stone on the road to success.
